Kid’s Halloween Sewing Card-Freebie

If you are looking for a fun activity to tame your little monsters while you finish up preparations for tomorrow’s festivities then this is for you. Download and print our little witch hat (here), glue it to a piece of cardboard (a cereal or cracker box will do just fine!) with a regular old glue stick.  After it dries punch a hole through every other dash with a sharp darning or knitting needle.  Then when your goblins get home it will be ready for them to have some creative fun.

Here’s what it looks like when it’s done–oodles of fun and will keep them busy for quite awhile.

Thread a blunt point tapestry needle (the one in your sewing kit with the big eye and no point that you probably have never used and wondered what it was for!) with thin yarn and instruct the kids to baste around the hat–a basic stitch going in and out of each hole. Once they sew all around the hat they can baste in the opposite direction to fill in the gaps. When finished they can color their new masterpiece…which buys you a few more minutes!

We hope your ghouls enjoy this little project as much as mine. We wish you a happy and safe Halloween!
